Grey Lynn Community Church

Community Initiative

We as a church came up with some initiatives that we want to fulfil as our purpose for the community. For sure we cannot satisfy everyone but we try our best with the presence of the Holy Spirit to respond as needs arise.

  1. 1. CAP MONEY COURSE

- help families with ways to budget/spend/save income;

  1. 2.HOMEWORK CENTRE FOR STUDENTS

- coaching and mentoring the children with their school work

  1. 3.STREET FOOD DELIVERY FOR HOMELESS BROTHERS AND SISTERS

*** Every Second Saturday of the month, our teams deliver sandwich + drink to feed our homeless brothers and sisters on the street. This is part of our commitment to serve our Lord through His people.

  1. 4.FOOD BANK FOR FAMILIES

*** Our door is open to anyone especially our families who are in need for help with foodbank. Whilst waiting for assistance from governmental agencies, we are here to assist with families although it is not a lot but we hope a little something to help you and your family. We are certainly together on this journey and we do our best to help as you are so precious to our Lord Jesus. We also working together with Grey Lynn Citizen Advice Bureau and WINZ to give you the support.

  1. 5. HANDS AND FEET FOR THE COMMUNITY

*** Exactly is the name of this service. In Matthew 20:28 Jesus says; " ..just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..". Twice a month we do lawnmowing and tidy up rubbish around our neighbours for free. Our aim is to be able to provide this service to our wider community. We had a few awesome feedback from our neighbours that our service takes away an amount of pressure from their husbands who work fulltime from Sunday to Saturday.

All in all with everything we do, we give glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.
